Hello readers, It has been a month now for our Project MYSTERY OF NORTH EAST. So far we have been mostly focused on our Facebook page  and we did get a satisfying result for that. Located in between the mighty river the Brahmaputra in a Peacock island, Umananda Temple is just opposite side of the famous Kachari Ghat in Guwahati, Assam. This shiv temple was built by the famous Ahom King Gadadhar Singha (1681 - 1696) , who was the husband of Sati Joymati a great devout of Shaivite. The original temple was however immensely damaged by a devastating earthquake of 1897. Later, it was reconstructed by a rich local merchant who chose to inscribe the interior part of a Siva temple with Vaisnavite slogans. Parshuram Kund is a Hindu pilgrimage center situated on the Brahmaputra plateau in the lower reaches of the Lohit River and 21 km north of Tezu in Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh. Dedicated to sage Parshuram , the popular site attracts pilgrims from Nepal, from across India, and from nearby states of Manipur and Assam. Over 70,000 devotees and sadhus take a holy dip in its water each year on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, in the month of January. Image Source This place on the Lohit River carries a strong mythological link with the legend of Parsurama, a Hindu sage. According to the legend, sage Parsurama washed away his sin of matricide in the waters of the Lohit river at Brahma Kund. Image Source Kaziranga National Park is the name to exemplify the most popular conservation efforts to save the endangered species like one-horned rhinoceros in India. Located in the Golaghat and Nagaon district of Assam, this most notable wildlife sanctuary is being declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in the year 1985. The park resides at an edge of the Eastern Himalayan biodiversity hotspot and this could be the perfect reason to envision high degrees of diversified species with great visibility.  The park lies in the floodplains of Brahmaputra River and so every year the region is completely drenched with high water level; so do the wildlife gets affected by it too. Last week we released this video on the Mysterious phenomenon of birds committing suicide in JATINGA. Here we have written a bit about this mystery.  Commonly known as the valley of death for birds, Jatinga is a small village on a ridge, is located in Dima Hasao district (DHD), in the  state Assam. The place has damsel like beauty with scenic mountains surrounding it. It is famous  for The Bird Suicide Mystery.  Not only the Migratory birds, but the local birds also do similar things here in Jatinga.   It's a natural phenomenon nobody has been able to explain. But Jatinga's mysterious annual event of migratory birds committing mass suicide has now attracted the eyes of many scientists. Over the last 100 years, thousands of birds have flown to their death over this small strip of land. Iromba from Manipur: This Iromba dish serves as snacks as well as the main dish. Iromba is good for health as it is a nutritious dish. Its flavors may vary according to the season as seasonal vegetables and also vary due to locally available species. There are two versions of Iromba: one is Tokningkok garnishing and the other one is Mayang Maton Garnish. The most common ingredients used in this dish are fermented fish, finely chopped vegetables and fiery red chilly. Hello readers, Wanted to share our progress so far in this project. Till now we have created a Facebook page and started this blog. We are also working on our blog. At the time of writing this blog, we had 400+ LIKES on our Facebook page , our post reach was at 6765+ and 1407+ post engagements. On our Facebook page, we have a total of 13 posts till now. Our target is to reach 800+ likes by the end of this month and publish our website by 25th of September. Also, we are planning to start our Instagram page where our fans can share their travel experience through photos and videos.
